BOMESC Kicks Off Construction of NFPS COMP5 Living Quarters Module

On October 30, BOMESC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (BOMESC) officially kicked off construction on the NFPS COMP5 living quarters project.

Previously reported, in April 2026, BOMESC signed a contract with Saipem Offshore Construction S.p.A. for the construction of living quarters modules for an offshore platform. The contract is valued at approximately $220 million (approximately 1.5 billion yuan) and is scheduled for completion in March 2030. The primary scope of work includes the design, material procurement, and construction of the living quarters modules.

BOMESC stated that this living quarters module is part of the NFPS offshore compression complex project EPC5 (COMP5) and is intended to maintain production at the oil and gas field.

According to related news reports, BOMESC recently signed a contract with Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) for the construction of the topside module for a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, with a contract value of approximately 2.4 to 3.0 billion yuan. BOMESC’s primary scope of work includes the design, material procurement, and construction of the FPSO topside module, with delivery scheduled for April 2029.

Currently, BOMESC is actively advancing the upgrading of its production capacity. With 770,000 square meters of production facilities and 1.3 kilometers of quay frontage, the company is capable of maintaining a routine operational model that combines the final assembly of two FPSOs with the large-scale, batch shipment of ultra-large modules. At its maximum capacity, the facility can support the simultaneous final assembly of three FPSOs, reflecting a significant enhancement in its ability to undertake and deliver large-scale projects.
