Jinhang Shipbuilding to Build Five New Energy Container Ships for HigoShipping

On July 15, HigoShipping signed a strategic cooperation agreement on new energy shipbuilding with Hunan Jinhang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jinhang Shipbuilding”). According to the strategic cooperation agreement, in the next three years, Jinhang Shipbuilding will build five of the largest domestic specific route river-sea direct new energy (LNG) container ships for HigoShipping.

This cooperation is an important measure for the shipowner HigoShipping to promote the large-scale application of new energy ships, seize the green shipping track, and promote shipping upgrades in Hunan. It will also further consolidate Jinhang Shipbuilding’s leading position in the field of new energy ship construction in Hunan Province, and accelerate the green and intelligent transformation and development of shipbuilding, which is a win-win strategic choice.

According to the information from its official WeChat account, Jinhang Shipbuilding was founded in 2009 and is located in a provincial-level characteristic industrial town in Hunan Province. It covers an area of over 100,000 square meters, with a registered capital of 118 million yuan and an annual ship production capacity of 200,000 deadweight tons.

The company currently has nearly 400 employees and holds the qualifications for manufacturing Class I and Type II steel ships (both for coastal and inland waterways) and Class II aluminum ships, as well as Class B ship design qualification. It is a large-scale professional integrated shipbuilding enterprise specializing in the design and manufacture of new energy ships, various types of steel ships, new composite material ships, yachts, passenger ships and related products.
