Chimbusco Pan Nation Pioneers B30-Marine Gasoil Delivery in Hong Kong with OOCL

Chimbusco Pan Nation (CPN) announced a groundbreaking milestone in sustainable marine fuel supply, marking the first-ever delivery of a B30-Marine Gasoil (B30-MGO) which consists of 30% biodiesel and 70% Marine Gasoil (MGO), in Hong Kong. This historic supply, delivered to Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), represents the first time OOCL has received this unique fuel blend in the region, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and enhanced sustainability.

This delivery, completed on 11 July 2025, solidifies CPN’s leadership in advancing green fuel solutions in East Asia. Being the first bunker supplier in the region capable of providing all grades of ISCC-EU Certified marine biofuel, including marine fuel and gas oil, CPN demonstrates its commitment to supporting the maritime industry’s transition to sustainable energy.

In addition to the B30-MGO, this operation included a simultaneous delivery of B30-High Sulphur Marine Fuel Oil, showcasing the exceptional capability and efficiency of CPN’s operational team. This dual-grade delivery underscores CPN’s technical expertise and ability to meet complex bunkering demands, reinforcing its position as a leader in the industry.

CPN remains dedicated to driving innovation and sustainability in marine fuel supply, paving the way for a greener future in global shipping.

On May 7, 2025, CPN in collaboration with OOCL, completed Hong Kong’s first B30 marine biofuel bunkering operation, supplying ISCC-EU Certified B30 marine biofuel to a containership operated by OOCL. This milestone followed the IMO MEPC 83 approval, which permits conventional bunker tankers to carry biofuel blends up to 30%. The B30 blend, comprising 30% biodiesel, further reduced carbon emissions compared to B24 biofuel, advancing sustainable maritime operations.

This operation marks OOCL’s first B30 biofuel bunkering operation in Hong Kong, advancing their decarbonisation strategy. It also underscores CPN’s commitment to leading the adoption of sustainable marine fuels. Authorised by the IMO’s updated regulations, CPN’s B30 marine biofuel met stringent sulphur standards and supported global decarbonisation goals, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a hub for sustainable bunkering.
