Offshore Engineer BOMESC Sees 81% Profit Erosion as Global Tensions Disrupt Operations

On July 14, BOMESC Offshore Engineering Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as “BOMESC”) issued the “Announcement on Expected Reduction of 2025 Semi-annual Performance”.

The announcement disclosed that BOMESC expects to achieve a net profit attributable to the parent company’s owners of approximately RMB 12 million (approximately US$1.6728 million) in the first half of 2025, which will be a decrease of approximately RMB 51.2446 million (approximately US$7.1435 million) compared with the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of approximately 81.03%.

BOMESC stated that the company’s semi-annual performance fell by more than 50% compared with the same period last year, mainly due to the complex and changing international political and economic situation in the first half of 2025, such as the continued conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the rise of US trade protectionism, and the expansion of geopolitical influences such as the Middle East. The ripple effect was felt around the world, and the international situation continued to be turbulent in recent years.
