Guangzhou Shipyard International Commences Construction of First 49,500 DWT Chemical/Tanker for German L&B

On June 25, Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, officially kicked off construction of the first 49,500 DWT chemical/product tanker for LEONHARDT&BLUMBERG (L&B), a well-known German shipping company.

This marks a significant achievement for Guangzhou Shipyard International in its efforts to penetrate the high-end European shipping market. The project represents the company’s first German shipbuilding order in nearly 20 years, making it a milestone event.

This collaboration marks another crucial step forward for Guangzhou Shipyard International in expanding its presence in the international market.

It is understood that the 50,000 DWT chemical/product tanker is Guangzhou Shipyard International’s flagship ship type, renowned for its technological leadership, environmental friendliness, and economic efficiency, perfectly aligning with L&B’s pursuit of a high-quality fleet and sustainable operations.
