Singapore shipowner Adhart Shipping is returning to China to place shipbuilding order to expand its business.
According to TradeWinds, Adhart Shipping has signed a contract with New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine, to build four 64,100 DWT Ultramaxes bulk carriers.
The S&P Maritime Portal website shows four new vessels with hull numbers 1330, 1332, 1338 and 1341.The cost and delivery dates of the new vessels have not been disclosed.
The 64,100 dwt Ultramaxes bulk carrier is the star ship type of New Dayang Shipbuilding – version 3.0 Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier, with a total order book of 105 vessels by the end of 2024. With an overall length of 199.99 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters and a depth of 18.80 meters, this type of vessel has completely independent intellectual property rights.
The Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier features the following three main advantages:
Excellent indicators: the cargo capacity has increased dramatically, and the figures for speed and fuel consumption are significantly better than those of the CROWN63 2.0 version, with EEDI values far exceeding the baseline, making it an excellent candidate among PHASE 3 vessels.
Excellent design: Sumec marine re-optimizes the hull lines, adopts energy-saving and consumption-reducing design, and realizes the updating and upgrading of the superior vessel type.
Full Configuration: Sumec marine actively promotes the configuration of its product series, providing a variety of configuration options such as low resistance paint, desulfurization tower, high-voltage shore power system, ship intelligence system, etc., to meet the needs of different shipowners in a variety of scenarios.
Recently, Xindayang Shipbuilding has also successfully renewed the newbuilding contract for two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers with Japanese owner Kasuga Shipping.
It is worth noting that the above order is not the first time for Adhart Shipping to cooperate with New Dayang Shipbuilding. In January this year, the two sides signed a contract for the construction of four MR product tankers, marking the formal entry of New Dayang Shipbuilding into the field of MR product tanker construction. This type of vessel is suitable for the future utilization of methanol fuel.
Together with the latest order, Adhart Shipping has placed orders for four tankers and four bulk carriers at New Dayang Shipbuilding.
