QMW and CPOE Qingdao Sign QatarEnergy LNG NFW Jacket Fabrication Project

On September 4, 2026, Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (“QMW”) and CNPC Offshore Engineering (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. (“CPOE Qingdao”) held a signing ceremony for the QatarEnergy LNG North Field West (NFW) Jacket Fabrication Project at the Chinese-Foreign Entrepreneurs Reception Hall in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

As the first project to be implemented following the signing of the Comprehensive Cooperation Framework Contract between the two parties, this ceremony marks a milestone transition of their strategic cooperation from framework consensus to substantive implementation.

The NFW Jacket Fabrication Project signed on this occasion is a key component of QatarEnergy LNG’s North Field Expansion program. QMW and CPOE Qingdao will join forces, fully leveraging their accumulated technical expertise and experience in large-scale offshore jacket fabrication. With the dual objectives of “ZERO Defect, ZERO Hurt,” they will benchmark against international owner specifications item by item, embedding quality control and safety assurance throughout the entire project lifecycle, so as to win the owner’s trust with reliable products and outstanding safety performance.

Earlier this year, in April, the two parties formally signed the Comprehensive Cooperation Framework Contract, establishing the cooperation principle of “Framework First, Flexible Adaptation.” Since their initial collaboration, the two sides have successfully delivered nine key projects in joint project campaigns, including the Qatar RUYA EPC11 Jacket Project. The signing of the NFW Project represents yet another substantial leap forward, transitioning from “side-by-side operations” to “systematic collaboration,” underpinned by the joint management synergy and collaborative efficiency honed through 12 years of partnership and nine major projects. Going forward, the teams of both parties will use this project as a practical platform to further refine the full-process construction techniques for deepwater jackets, striving to set a new benchmark for “Made in China” within QatarEnergy’s global supply chain, and to contribute tangible results to the clustered development of the offshore engineering equipment industry in the West Coast New Area.
