According to Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) of CSSC, SDARI recently signed a design contract for a 33,000 DWT deck carrier. The vessel was built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) for NBP (NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers Ltd.), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line).
The vessel is tailor-made for the transportation of large modular equipment. It is classed by ClassNK and flies the Panama flag. After completion, it will help NBP expand its business territory and enhance its market competitiveness.
With a deadweight of 33,000 tons, the vessel is a highly customized ocean-going heavy deck carrier. It has strong cargo transportation capacity, and its wide deck design can meet the transportation needs of various large and heavy cargoes. In the field of large-scale maritime transportation of special cargoes, it will become a well-deserved main force of transportation, helping the world to build a safe and efficient transportation channel for special cargoes and empowering international economic and trade cooperation.
In addition, the vessel also has excellent performance in terms of endurance and wind and wave resistance. It is equipped with an efficient electric propulsion power system and air lubrication system, taking into account the energy utilization efficiency and the needs of long-term sailing, and can easily cope with ocean transportation tasks.
Also, the vessel adopts advanced wind and wave resistant design, its stability is at the leading level of similar vessels, and it is able to navigate safely under more complicated sea conditions and effectively respond to various climatic conditions and operating sea conditions, which provides a reliable guarantee for the transportation of cargoes, and puts shipowners and cargo owners in a more secure position.
