Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Delivers Two Vessels on the Same Day

On April 30, Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, delivered the second 63,200DWT bulk carrier “DARYA NITYA” (flying the flag of the Marshall Islands) to the shipowner Chellaram.

“DARYA NITYA” is the 2nd new design Ultramax bulk carrier built by Yangzi-Mitsui for Chellaram, which is classed by DNV.

The bulk carrier commenced construction on June 29, 2023, launched on February 28, 2024, and successfully completed its sea trials on April 16, with a construction period of approximately 10 months.

On the morning of April 30, New Yangzi Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Group, delivered HARMONY, the first 40,000DWT bulk carrier to Evalend, a Greek shipowner.

“HARMONY” is the first unit in a series of 4 bulk carriers built by Yangzijiang Group for Evalend, which is of the latest generation of green dolphin design of Shanghai Shipbuilding Research & Design Institute (SDARI).

With an overall length of 176.97 meters and a beam of 31.99 meters, the bulk carrier meets the requirements of the latest specifications such as HCSR and EEDI-3. With excellent indicators of deadweight and fuel consumption, the bulk carrier is expected to obtain Class A rating from CII after putting into operation, which provides a good solution to cope with the increasing carbon tax in Europe.
