December 14, a gantry crane height of 75 meters, span of 74.5 meters, weighing 1,150 tons of 300T, complete the translation of 418 meters, 90-degree turn after the precise landing, marking the Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard’s 300T and 50T gantry cranes overall relocation project ended successfully.
With the expansion of Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard, it is necessary to move 300T, 50T two gantry cranes to the new production site.
If the gantry crane dismantling and re-installation program is adopted, the construction period is up to 3 months and the relocation cost is up to 3 million RMB. In order to shorten the time and improve the production efficiency, the company finally decided to use the SPMT modular truck to relocate the gantry crane as a whole.
The project team completed the fabrication of the relocation tower on December 5th, completed the preparatory work on the 10th, started the relocation on the 11th, and moved the two gantry cranes to the new site smoothly on the 14th.
It is claimed that relocating with SPMT modular trucks can result in significant cost savings and shorten the construction period to 10 days, which greatly reduces the impact on productivity and avoids secondary damage to the gantry crane from dismantling.
With the commissioning of the 300T gantry crane and the new site of the plant, the company’s manufacturing capacity of segments has been further enhanced.
