China’s First Domestic Large Cruise Ship Adora Magic City Moved to Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port

On December 15, China’s first large-scale cruise ship “Adora Magic City” successfully completed its five years of design and construction, and slowly sailed away from the wharf of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding under CSSC, and headed to its first home port – Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port, which is about to start a brand-new operation journey.

After about two hours of smooth sailing, Adora Magic City arrived at her home port at 15:40 on the 15th, and safely docked at the scheduled mooring pier.

Shanghai Baoshan Wusongkou International Cruise Port, which officially opened in 2011, has created the myth of topping Asia’s No. 1 in three years and leaping to the world’s fourth largest cruise homeport in five years. It is an important functional window for Shanghai to vigorously develop the cruise economy, accelerate the construction of the cruise capital and promote the development of China’s coastal cruise industry.

The combination of “Adora Magic City” and Wusongkou International Cruise Port will further drive the construction and development of the domestic cruise supporting industry chain, accelerate the further deepening of the strategic objectives of cruise tourism system innovation, foreign cooperation, port linkage, and the whole cruise industry chain, and create China’s cruise brand.

Presently, nearly 1,300 crew members from all over the world have been assembled for the “Adora Magic City”, and the preparations for the operation have entered the final stage of sprinting. On January 1, 2024, “Adora Magic City” will set sail from Wusongkou International Cruise Port with a full load of tourists from all directions.

Adora Magic City is 323.6 meters long, with a gross tonnage of 135,500 tons, 2,125 luxury rooms and suites, and it can accommodate 5,246 guests at full capacity. Blending the aesthetics of the East and the West, and integrating diversified ideas and innovative concepts, the cruise ship is dedicated to creating new scenarios on the sea, such as artisanal delicacies, immersive entertainment, trendy shopping, and creative spaces. Guests can enjoy global cuisines at the specialty restaurants with a collection of world cuisines, enjoy exciting performances at the 1,000-seat theater, shop for global goods at the large duty-free store, and enjoy an immersive experience at the first industrial art coffee space.
