Recently, Jiangxi Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding successfully signed a contract with an overseas shipowner for the construction of one 7,999 DWT oil and chemical tanker, with an option for one additional vessel.

Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding stated that the 7,999 DWT oil and chemical product tanker covered by this contract was custom-built for the international ocean transport of refined oil products and chemicals, meets stringent international maritime standards, and offers outstanding overall performance.
The cargo tanks feature top-grade MARINELINE special coatings, offering exceptional resistance to chemical corrosion and permeation; this versatility allows for the transport of a wide range of refined products and liquid chemicals. The coating’s high durability significantly reduces long-term maintenance and operating costs while ensuring compliance with global regulations for high-end liquid cargo transport. Thanks to an optimized hull form, the vessel experiences minimal hydrodynamic resistance and lower fuel consumption, delivering operational cost-efficiency that far surpasses comparable models. Its specifications strike an ideal balance between navigational flexibility and cargo capacity, making it suitable for both coastal and deep-sea routes and effectively enhancing operational profitability for shipowners.
Furthermore, the vessel is constructed in strict accordance with international maritime standards and equipped with comprehensive systems for liquid cargo handling, fire and explosion protection and leak detection. It features multi-layered protective structures designed to mitigate the risks associated with transporting oil and chemicals, offering superior resistance to leakage, explosions, and pollution, and is capable of successfully passing inspections and audits at major ports worldwide.

Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding was formally established in December 2024 in Pengze County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, succeeding the former Jiujiang Xiangsheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Under a “rescue plan” spearheaded by the Jiujiang municipal and Pengze county governments, the company underwent an asset restructuring involving the introduction of a strategic investor from Fujian; it now stands as one of the three key projects driving Jiujiang City’s initiative to build a shipbuilding industry worth over 100 billion yuan.
Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding features a 10,000-ton class outfitting wharf, a 50,000-ton class semi-dry dock (equipped with a 400-ton gantry crane), two 35,000-ton class semi-dry docks, and a 30,000-ton class slipway. Focusing on high-value-added vessels such as LNG-powered ships and chemical tankers, the shipyard has an annual production capacity of 200,000 deadweight tons (DWT) and an annual output value of RMB 2 billion at full capacity.
