On August 27, filing information regarding enterprise investment projects in Xiamen revealed that Xiamen Xinliansheng Shipping has commissioned Zhejiang Shenzhou Sunshine Heavy Industry to build a 2,000 TEU green container ship. The contract is valued at approximately RMB 158 million (about US$24 million), with delivery scheduled for July 2027.
The new vessel measures 171.9 meters in length and 28.6 meters in width. It has passed inspection by the China Classification Society (CCS) and was designed with a focus on environmental sustainability, energy conservation, emission reduction, and safety.
Public records indicate that Zhejiang Shenzhou Sunshine Heavy Industry was established in 2019 and is located at the Daguzhi Port-side Equipment Manufacturing Base in Shipu, Xiangshan. It is a small-to-medium-sized shipyard primarily engaged in the construction, repair, and dismantling of vessels under 10,000 deadweight tons (DWT); it lacks the capacity to build large-scale vessels. The shipyard shares hardware resources with Zhejiang Shenzhou Shipbuilding.
The facility covers a production area of 330,000 square meters with 750 meters of coastline. It is equipped with three slipways—rated for 50,000 DWT, 30,000 DWT, and 20,000 DWT vessels, respectively—and a supporting 30,000 DWT outfitting wharf. The site features production workshops and specialized painting facilities, along with comprehensive gantry crane equipment, enabling the construction of various small-to-medium-sized commercial vessels, such as chemical tankers and oil/chemical tankers.
According to business registration information, Xiamen Xinliansheng Shipping was established in June 2026 with a registered capital of RMB 20 million; Zheng Daren serves as its legal representative. The company’s business scope encompasses international shipping agency and management services, as well as general operations such as international container and general cargo shipping, and licensed operations including inter-provincial general cargo shipping and intra-provincial shipping.
