On June 4, Fujian Shipping Group held a signing ceremony with Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nantong Xiangyu SOE) for four 62,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels.

Reportedly, the four 62,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels covered by this agreement combine the cost-efficiency of bulk carriers with the versatility of heavy-lift vessels. Featuring four heavy-duty cranes capable of a combined tandem lift of 300 tons, they can easily hoist entire wind turbine nacelles or massive shield tunneling machine components weighing over a hundred tons. With a hull length of nearly 200 meters and a cargo capacity exceeding 75,000 cubic meters, these vessels efficiently transport both bulk and break-bulk cargo, thereby meeting the heightened capacity demands arising from the shifting global shipping landscape and the Group’s diversified business expansion.
Fujian Shipping Group stated that the signing of this project marks a new milestone in the Group’s development history, signaling the official launch of its “blue ocean” strategy focused on high-value-added fleet operations and global project logistics services. It also represents a major step in deepening the implementation of the Group’s integrated “port-shipping-trade” strategy, further propelling leapfrog growth as the Group positions itself for future markets.
