Shipping broker Bancosta reports that Wisdom Marine, Taiwan’s largest bulk carrier owner, has placed an order with Japan’s Saiki Shipbuilding for three 40,000 DWT bulk carriers.

The three new vessels reportedly ordered are part of Wisdom Marine’s plan to build a series of six bulk carriers. The first vessel, with a construction cost of $32 million, is expected to be delivered in April 2027.
Wisdom Marine and Saiki Shipbuilding have previously collaborated. Last October, it was reported that the two parties signed a contract for the construction of three 40,000 DWT bulk carriers, with delivery scheduled for February to March 2026.
Saiki Shipbuilding is a core shipyard under Onomichi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in Japan. It primarily builds medium-sized vessels such as bulk carriers and product tankers ranging from 40,000 to 50,000 deadweight tons, with an annual production capacity of nine newbuilds. As of 2026, the company has delivered a total of over 200 vessels.
