Dajin Heavy Industry Secures Nearly $600 Million in Bulk Carrier Orders from Norwegian and Greek Shipowners

On April 23, Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dajin Heavy Industry”) issued an announcement stating that the company signed shipbuilding contracts with a Norwegian shipowner and a Greek shipowner, with a total order value of nearly US$600 million (equivalent to more than RMB 4 billion), including a total of 8 bulk carriers (4 ships ordered by each shipowner). Each vessel is approximately 299.95 meters long, 50 meters wide, and 25 meters deep.

Under the announcement, Dajin Heavy Industry is responsible for completing the design, construction, and sea trials of the vessels before final delivery. Delivery will take place in batches between 2028 and 2029.

It is reported that on April 19, 2026, the 40,000 DWT deck cargo vessel KING TWO was successfully launched at Dajin Heavy Industry’s Panjin Offshore Engineering Base. This vessel is the second large deck cargo ship successfully launched at the Panjin base. Previously, the first vessel of this class, the KING ONE, successfully completed its maiden voyage, fully demonstrating the vessel’s seaworthiness and reliability, and highlighting the company’s robust technical expertise and outstanding construction capabilities in the field of large, high-end shipbuilding.
