Recently, the “Announcement of Procurement Results for the Construction Project of 64,000 DWT Bulk Carriers by China Huaneng Group Fuel Co.,Ltd.” was released: Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding won the bid for the project, with a transaction amount of 265 million yuan (approximately USD 39 million).

Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding Formerly known as Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou), Suntian Shipbuilding was originally a subsidiary of Jiangsu Sainty Shipbuilding was originally a third-tier company of Jiangsu Guoxin Investment Group. which was restructured from Jiangsu Sainty Shipbuilding, established in 2003. In 2016, it became China’s first listed shipbuilding company to go bankrupt due to bankruptcy and reorganization in the wake of severe losses, and then Jiangsu Guoxin Investment Group rescued Sunshine Shipbuilding, which was facing delisting, with a capital injection in exchange for shares.
Public information shows that before its name change, Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) covered an area of approximately 1,050 mu (about 63 hectares) with a shoreline of 930 meters. It had one dry dock, one slipway, and two outfitting wharves, equipped with two 500-ton gantry cranes and advanced shipbuilding equipment. Its main products were bulk carriers, container ships, heavy-lift vessels, multi-purpose vessels, and marine engineering vessels under 100,000 tons.
Recently, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding delivered its first 63,500 DWT bulk carrier, the “Anshun,” to JIC Leasing. The ship was delivered 52 days ahead of schedule, setting a new record for the fastest delivery since the shipyard was established.
