On April 8, the N1196 project—a 63,600-ton bulk carrier built by Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for Veritas—was successfully launched.
During construction, the project team fully leveraged the efficiencies of series production, coordinated key resources, and continuously optimized production processes. The team vigorously promoted accelerated outfitting and efficient welding to enhance overall construction efficiency.
By the time of the launch, the vessel had reached several key milestones: painting in the cargo holds, ballast tanks, and engine room was completed, and scaffolding had been removed. Additionally, the switchboard was connected to shore power, monitoring and alarm systems were energized and commissioned, and load tests on the main and emergency generators were successfully conducted. Functional tests on the automatic power station and the external looping of the main lubrication system were also completed, along with the installation of living quarter furniture. These achievements have laid a solid foundation for the upcoming mooring trials and dock commissioning.
