On March 22, Harbin Engineering University and Hengtong Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Suzhou, for the joint establishment of a national-level innovation center and an inauguration ceremony for the Joint Research Institute of Advanced Marine Intelligent Equipment. The signing of the first batch of cooperation projects between the two parties took place simultaneously, marking the entry of their cooperation into a new stage of comprehensiveness, multi-level integration and holistic collaboration.

The collaboration aims to promote the organic integration of the education chain, talent chain, innovation chain, and industrial chain. Both parties will leverage their respective strengths to jointly create a national-level innovation platform, jointly undertake major national projects, jointly formulate national or international standards, and jointly build a high-level R&D team.

According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly build the National Manufacturing Innovation Center for Deep-Sea Communication and Sensing, creating a major innovation platform that integrates technological innovation, concept verification, pilot testing, and industrial incubation. This platform will become an important national strategic scientific and technological force, leading the development of deep-sea information industry technology, cultivating a new industrial ecosystem, and building a strategic information foundation for a maritime power.

During the event, Harbin Engineering University also hosted a series of seminars on cutting-edge technologies, featuring presentations and academic exchanges on topics such as underwater communication technology, the application of specialized cables and marine equipment, new optical fiber sensing and transmission technologies, and the development of underwater vehicles and unmanned systems.
