Keyfield International Secures $62.75 Million Charter Contracts for Eight Offshore Vessels

Malaysian offshore vessel owner Keyfield International announced that it has signed charter contracts for seven accommodation workboats (AWBs) and one anchor tugboat (AHTS) to be deployed in the waters of Malaysia, the Middle East and Thailand.

According to the contract, the total value of the charter contracts for eight offshore engineering vessels is approximately US$62.75 million, of which US$41.33 million is a fixed contract value and the contract amount with extension options is approximately US$21.43 million. The charterers are a number of oil engineering contractors and oil and gas companies in Malaysia, Qatar, the UAE and Thailand.

Seven of the contracts are expected to commence in the first half of 2026, while another charter contract is planned to begin in early 2027. The fixed contract terms range from two months to one year, with extension options ranging from one month to one year.

A Keyfield representative stated, “These multiple charter contracts will further solidify the company’s position as a maritime service provider, while also highlighting the region’s demand for accommodation workboats to support offshore operations.”

According to its official website, Keyfield International is primarily engaged in the leasing of its own and third-party vessels. It currently operates a fleet of 14 vessels, including 13 Malaysian-flagged vessels (with a passenger capacity ranging from 50 to 500) and one cable-laying barge equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system.
