On February 26, Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding and the People’s Government of Liuheng Town, Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, successfully signed a contract in Zhoushan City for the design and construction of five boats.

It is understood that the contracted projects include five vessels of two types: one 40-meter-class boat and four 15-meter-class boats. Both types feature twin engines, twin propellers, and twin rudders for propulsion, ensuring navigational stability and maneuverability.
The 40-meter class boat measures 49.95 meters in overall length, 7.8 meters in beam and 4.2 meters in draft. Both the main hull and deckhouse feature steel welded structures. Designed for a minimum speed of 17 knots, it boasts an endurance exceeding 1,300 nautical miles, making it suitable for offshore operations.
The 15-meter class boat has an overall length of 16.15 meters, a beam of 4.1 meters, and a draft of 1.85 meters. Featuring a composite structure combining a steel hull with an aluminum deckhouse, it is designed for a minimum speed of 20 knots. Suitable for coastal operations, it achieves enhanced flexibility and durability.
Upon completion and delivery, this batch of boats will significantly enhance routine patrol and safety oversight capabilities in local coastal and offshore waters. It will further strengthen the security inspection and safeguarding forces in coastal areas, providing robust support for high-quality local economic and social development, marine ecological conservation and maritime traffic safety management. This initiative will help fortify China’s nearshore waters.
