Zhoushan Changhong International Begins Construction on Third 19,000 TEU LNG Dual-Fuel Boxship for MSC

On February 27, Zhoushan Changsong International kicked off construction of the third 19,000-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship (Hull No.CHB2049) for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) at its processing workshop in the Daisan base. This series represents the largest LNG dual-fuel container ships currently under construction in Zhejiang Province.

The vessel design features an overall length of approximately 366.0 meters, a beam of 58.8 meters, a depth of 30.2 meters and a design draft of 17.0 meters. It can efficiently carry 19,000 standard containers, incorporating green design principles and advanced energy-saving technologies. The ship is classified by DNV.

It is reported that as the third 19,000-TEU ultra-large LNG dual-fuel container ship, its successful commencement of construction not only signifies Zhoushan Changhong Daisan Base’s achievement of mass production and high efficiency in large container shipbuilding, but also demonstrates Zhoushan Changhong International’s comprehensive strength and exceptional construction efficiency in the large vessel manufacturing sector.
