CIMC SOE Completes Keel-Laying for Second 15,000 m³ Refrigerated Cargo Vessel for Shanghai Changyun Ocean Engineering

On January 26, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (CIMC SOE) successfully completed the keel-laying milestone for the second 15,000 m³ refrigerated cargo vessel built for Shanghai Changyun Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd.

The vessel measures 146 meters in overall length, 22 meters in beam, and 12 meters in depth, with a design draft of 7.9 meters and a design speed of approximately 16 knots. It boasts a cargo capacity of 15,130 cubic meters, primarily serving cross-port transportation of fishery products while delivering outstanding cargo handling capabilities and navigational stability.

The vessel is equipped with six refrigerated holds and adopts a zoned refrigeration system, supporting cryogenic transportation at -35℃, making it a “mobile marine giant refrigerator” navigating the open oceans. Classed by China Classification Society (CCS), it features Ice Class B navigation capability and is fitted with a host of environmental protection configurations including a ballast water treatment system and an EEDI optimization solution, fully aligning with the development trend of green shipping.

It is reported that Shanghai Changyun Ocean Engineering has signed a contract for a series of refrigerated cargo vessels totaling 4+4 vessels. Currently, the first four vessels are under construction, with the first vessel soon to be launched. Moving forward, CIMC SOE will continue to leverage its strengths in marine engineering equipment construction, adhering to high standards and stringent requirements to advance the subsequent construction work and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of the vessels.
