Recently, shipyards under Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding) achieved the simultaneous delivery of three vessels in a single day, setting a new record for the company’s vessel delivery speed.
Mawei Shipbuilding Delivers 18,500 DWT Oil/Chemical Tanker
On January 8, Fujian Shipbuilding’s Mawei Shipbuilding successfully delivered the 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker (MW516-4), 235 days ahead of the contractual schedule. This vessel is one of a series of vessels constructed by Fujian Shipbuilding for Pioneer Logistics.

Since establishing a strategic partnership with Pioneer Logistics in August 2023, Fujian Shipbuilding has successfully delivered 12 high-quality vessels. The delivery of this vessel not only represents an expansion of the collaboration but also demonstrates the firm commitment of both parties to promoting green and efficient development in the shipping industry.
Southeast Shipyard Delivers 18,500 DWT Oil/Chemical Tanker and 69.8-Meter Maintenance Workboat
On the same day, Fujian Shipbuilding’s Southeast Shipyard successfully delivered an 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker and a 69.8-meter maintenance workboat. The 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker was delivered 82 days ahead of the contractual schedule.

The 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker measures 149.8 meters in length overall and 22.8 meters in beam. Featuring advanced design and outstanding performance, the vessel is pre-equipped for conversion to methanol dual-fuel capability. It offers exceptional cargo adaptability, capable of transporting crude oil, petroleum products with specific gravity below 1.54 tons/cubic meter, and various liquid cargoes including IMO Class II/III chemicals.
To advance green shipping principles, both the main engine and generator sets are equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for nitrogen oxide emission control, meeting IMO Tier III standards. The vessel also possesses ICE CLASS 1C ice-strengthened capabilities.
The 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker features a multi-load line design for flexible adaptation to global shipping routes. Its propulsion system employs a low-speed two-stroke diesel engine integrated with multiple energy-saving and high-efficiency devices, complemented by variable-frequency shaft generator sets. This configuration enables generator-free operation during navigation, significantly reducing energy consumption while enhancing maneuverability and economic efficiency.
The early delivery of the 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker series represents another successful implementation of Fujian Shipbuilding’s batch production and intelligent construction approach for this mature vessel type.

The 69.8-meter maintenance workboat has an overall length of 69.8 meters and a beam of 17.6 meters. It is primarily used for transporting industrial personnel to and from offshore drilling platforms, supplying fresh water, drilling water, and fuel, and transporting deck cargo. Classified by ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), it meets the requirements of DPS-2, FFV1, and ESS-LiBATTERY classification symbols, making it an efficient and economical offshore maintenance workboat.
