On December 15, China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard signed a contract with ArcelorMittal, the world’s second-largest steel producer, in Hong Kong for the construction of four 211,000 DWT bulk carriers. It is understood that the 211,000 DWT bulk carrier signed in this agreement represents a mainstream large cargo vessel in the international shipping industry.
This vessel has an overall length of 299.25 meters, a beam of 50 meters and a beam of 50 meters. Its design and configuration prioritize energy efficiency and propulsion performance. By optimizing the hull lines, adopting a high-efficiency power system, and installing advanced equipment such as shaft generators, the vessel possesses core advantages such as outstanding loading capacity, excellent comprehensive performance, low energy consumption and environmentally friendly emissions.
