On July 31, Titan Wind (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Titan Wind” or the “Company”) announced that a wholly-owned subsidiary within its offshore engineering division had signed a contract with a subsidiary of a renowned international shipowner for the construction of six 114,000 DWT dual-purpose product/crude oil tankers. The contract has recently come into effect, with a value of approximately US$420 million to US$480 million; the vessels are scheduled for delivery in batches during 2028 and 2029.
The announcement discloses that the new vessel—an LR2-class tanker—measures approximately 248.8 meters in length overall, with a beam of about 44 meters and a depth of around 21.5 meters. Capable of simultaneously carrying crude oil and refined petroleum products, the vessel is suitable for both long-haul ocean transport of crude oil and regional trade in refined products; designed for international routes and offering exceptional market flexibility, it represents a mainstay vessel type in global oil transportation.
Titan Wind states that its oil and gas vessel division focuses on the design and construction of offshore engineering vessels and oil and gas ships. This contract signing demonstrates the high level of recognition the company has earned from shipowners and project owners for its commitment to quality and on-time delivery, further solidifying its position in the oil and gas vessel sector.
This is the second tanker construction contract recently announced by Titan Wind in the commercial shipping sector.
On July 21, Titan Wind announced an order for 2+2 crude oil tankers (113,800 DWT), with a total contract value of approximately RMB 1.874 billion (about USD 278 million); the vessels are scheduled for phased delivery between 2028 and 2029. This marks Titan Wind’s first order for commercial vessels, bringing its total tally of new ship orders to 8+2.
