On November 12, China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard kicked off construction on three vessels simultaneously. Representatives from Greek shipowner SeaTrader, Lavinia, German shipowner AAC, and classification societies LR, BV, and DNV attended the steel cutting ceremony alongside the company’s project team.

The three vessels that started construction simultaneously include two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers and one 1,000 TEU container ship. All of them are mainstream merchant vessels with proven technology and mass production capabilities at China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard.
In the subsequent production and construction phase, China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard will systematically summarize the previous shipbuilding process, deeply refine the mature experience in key aspects such as outfitting and assembly, actively optimize management standards and operating procedures, and make every effort to ensure the high-quality delivery of the three vessels to the shipowner.
Simultaneously, this effort will further consolidate the shipyard’s strengths in batch production and project coordination management, laying a solid foundation for enhancing competitiveness in the global mainstream merchant shipbuilding sector.
