Swiss shipping company Advantage Tankers is further expanding its large tanker fleet, having recently placed new orders for one Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) and two Suezmax tankers.
Foreign media reports indicate that Advantage Tankers has exercised its option with Hanwha Ocean to build one 320,000 DWT VLCC, scheduled for delivery in September 2027. The estimated construction cost is approximately $127 million.
Since the start of this year, Advantage Tankers has placed multiple VLCC orders with Hanwha Ocean in succession. With the latest order included, the total number of such vessels now stands at four.
The other two Suezmax tankers were undertaken by South Korea’s DH Shipbuilding, featuring LNG-ready design. They are scheduled for delivery in July and September 2027, with the construction cost undisclosed.
It is understood that Advantage Tankers, led by Nazli Williams, is a privately held company established in 2014. It currently operates a diversified fleet of 26 vessels, including six VLCCs.
