Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Secures Three Key Milestones in Vessel Construction

On September 5, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) under Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group kicked off construction of the 41,000 DWT oil/chemical tanker (XSI501F).

The vessel has an overall length of approximately 199.0 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters, a design draft of 11.1 meters, a structural draft of 12.0 meters and a deadweight tonnage of 41,000 tons at design draft.

On September 6, with tugboats providing assistance, XSI successfully launched the third vessel (XSI463M) in its series of 7,500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTCs (pure car and track carrier) built for Japan’s Santoku Senpaku.

During the construction period in the dock, the XSI project team coordinated and coordinated in accordance with the company’s production requirements. All operating departments rose to the challenge and achieved a number of new breakthroughs. The integrity of the undocking was greatly improved compared to before, laying a good foundation for the subsequent dock commissioning.

On September 7, the keel-laying ceremony was held for the fifth vessel (XSI463P) in the series of 7,500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTCs being constructed by XSI for Japan’s Santoku Senpaku.

It has a total length of 199.9m, a beam of 38.0m, and a designed draft of 8.65m. It has a total of 13 car decks, 9 of which are fixed and 4 are movable, providing 7,500 standard parking spaces. The internal connection between decks is achieved through fixed/movable ramps. It is a single-propeller, dual-fuel main engine-driven car carrier.
