On June 18, New Dayang Shipyard, a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine, successfully named and delivered the 41,000 DWT handysize bulk carrier “FANOULA” built for a Greek shipowner.
“FANOULA” is the first of four 41,000 DWT handysize bulk carriers ordered by the shipowner. This vessel type was designed and developed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) and is an upgraded version of the classic Green Dolphin 40 series of handysize bulk carriers.
With an optimized shallow draft design and maximum load capacity, the vessel offers extremely low fuel consumption, complies with the latest environmental regulations, and is equipped with a crane for self-loading and unloading capabilities, providing customers with a highly competitive transportation solution.
The delivery of this vessel marks a significant milestone for SUMEC Marine New Dayang Shipyard, as it now has delivery records for three ship types: HANDYSIZE, ULTRAMAX, and KAMSARMAX, achieving full coverage of mainstream medium-sized bulk carrier products.
In the future, SUMEC Marine will actively adapt to the industry trend of green, low-carbon, energy-saving, and emission-reduction development, continue to engage in the research, development, and construction of green energy vessels, and continue to promote the high-quality, sustainable, and healthy development of the enterprise.
