On August 25, CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (COMEC) released its 2026 semi-annual report. During the reporting period, COMEC achieved steady progress in its operations and development; the volume of new orders secured reached a record high, and operating efficiency steadily improved.

The report shows that in the first half of 2026, COMEC recorded operating revenue of RMB 11.120 billion (approximately US$1.655 billion), a year-on-year increase of 9.31%; operating profit of RMB 1.032 billion (approximately US$154 million), up 57.34% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of RMB 837 million (approximately US$125 million), up 58.94% year-on-year; and net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company excluding non-recurring gains and losses of RMB 782 million (approximately US$116 million), up 59.28% year-on-year.
During the reporting period, COMEC secured new orders totaling RMB 20.165 billion (approximately US$3.001 billion), achieving 122.8% of its annual target; these orders comprised 55 new vessels across eight ship types, primarily container ships. Additionally, the company completed and delivered 18 vessels with a total deadweight tonnage of 882,400, including feeder container ships and heavy-lift vessels.
As of the end of June 2026, the total contract value of COMEC’s order backlog was approximately RMB 74.5 billion (approximately US$11.086 billion). Of this, the shipbuilding order backlog accounted for approximately RMB 73.4 billion (approximately US$10.922 billion), comprising 173 vessels and one offshore engineering unit, with a combined deadweight tonnage of 6.28 million.
The report discloses that COMEC’s core operations span three major segments: the defense industry, the marine and shipbuilding industry, and emerging industries. Key products include defense equipment (such as naval vessels, coast guard equipment, and official service vessels); marine and shipbuilding products (such as feeder container ships, bulk carriers, small-to-medium gas carriers, dredgers, offshore engineering platforms, and wind power installation platforms); and emerging business products (such as energy equipment and industrial internet platforms). There were no significant changes to COMEC’s core business operations during the reporting period.
