On June 9, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) successfully completed the sea trial of the first 7,500 CEU dual-fuel PCTC in the series constructed for Japan’s Santoku Senpaku.
The 7500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC is an LNG-powered super Panamax Ro-Ro car carrier. With an overall length of 199.9m, a beam of 38m, a depth of 14.8m and a design draught of 8.65m, the vessel is equipped with a total of 13 decks, of which 9 are fixed and 4 are movable, providing 7,500 standard parking spaces.
The vessel adopts LNG dual-fuel power system and is equipped with the world’s leading low-pressure gas supply technology, which reduces carbon emissions by more than 30% compared with traditional oil-fired vessels, meets the highest environmental protection standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and assists in the low-carbon transformation of global shipping.
It is understood that during the sea trial from June 4 to June 9, the vessel successfully completed more than 45 key tests including speed test, LNG switching and maneuverability. All performance indicators of the vessel are better than the design standards, which fully verifies the stability and reliability of the overall construction quality of the vessel.
Next, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry will further strengthen the preparatory work before delivery to ensure the high quality delivery of the vessel.
