On May 28, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. (“CMJL (Weihai)”) officially breaks ground for the fourth 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) built for the Norwegian shipowner GAC.
The PCTC is 199.9 meters long, 38 meters wide, with a designed draft of 8.6 meters and a speed of 19 knots. It is equipped with 12 fixed and movable cargo decks, which can improve the efficiency of cargo loading and unloading and enhance the economic benefits of ship operation.
With a length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters and a speed of 19 knots, the PCTC is equipped with 12 fixed and movable cargo decks, which can improve the cargo handling efficiency and enhance its operational economic efficiency.
Its power system adheres to the green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly design concept, adopts a high-pressure dual-fuel system, is equipped with two 1,675 cubic meter LNG gas storage tanks, and is equipped with a shaft generator. It meets the International Maritime Organization’s TIER III emission standards and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It has the advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, and high efficiency.
It is reported that Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) provides design and drawing review services for this series of vessels, and CMJL (Weihai) completes the 3D modeling and drawing work of the design.
