ADNOC Drilling Secures $1.15 Billion, 15-Year Contract for Two Jack-up Rigs

UAE-based drilling contractor ADNOC Drilling has secured a USD 1.15-billion, 15-year contract from ADNOC Offshore for two advanced jackup rigs to support offshore operations, ADNOC Drilling announced on Tuesday.

This is the third major contract closed by ADNOC Drilling with ADNOC Offshore in just over a month, and brings total contract awards to USD 3.6 billion. In April, the company secured a USD 1.63-billion, five-year engagement for integrated drilling services. In May, it won a USD 806-million contract to deliver three newbuild island rigs for the Zakum offshore development project in Abu Dhabi.

The new rigs have been prepared for operations at the Lamprell shipyard in Sharjah and are designed to incorporate AI and automation systems for operational efficiency. They are expected to commence operations by the end of Q2 2025 and start generating revenue in the second half of the year.

“This new contract is a clear vote of confidence in ADNOC Drilling’s technical leadership, operational excellence and long-term value creation. By integrating AI, automation and digitalisation capabilities, the two new jackup rigs, our newest and most advanced, will ensure superior efficiency and performance for our client ADNOC Offshore,” said ADNOC Drilling CEO Abdulrahman Abdulla Al Seiari.

ADNOC Drilling operates one of the world’s largest offshore drilling fleets, with 47 offshore rigs. The company provides drilling, well construction and related oilfield services to ADNOC Group companies and other clients in the UAE, supporting the country’s upstream expansion goals and energy strategy.
