Hengli Heavy Industries Delivers Second Eco-Friendly 82,000 DWT Bulker to Vogemann

On May 28, Hengli Heavy Industries held a naming ceremony for the 82,000 DWT bulk carrier (HN2010) built for the German shipowner Vogemann. The new vessel was named “DONATELLO”. This is another new vessel delivered by Hengli Heavy Industries within 21 days.

The vessel is the second of four 82,000 dwt bulk carriers to be built by Vogemann at Hengli Heavy Industries. This series of vessels is characterized by “green, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and safety”, and is the latest generation of vessels meeting the requirements of the International Maritime Organization’s Tier III and EEDI phase 3.

It is understood that Hengli Heavy Industries and Vogemann started their cooperation journey in June 2023, when both parties signed a contract for the construction of four 180,000 dwt Capesize bulk carriers and four 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers. This order marks Hengli Heavy Industries’ entry into the large bulk carrier construction after entering the mainstream bulk carrier construction field.

In June 2024, Vogemann placed an additional order for four 180,000 dwt bulk carriers with Hengli Heavy Industries, increasing the number of newbuilding cooperation between the two companies to two types and twelve vessels.

Since the beginning of this year, Hengli Heavy Industries’ construction efficiency has repeatedly set new highs, and its production capacity has continued to break through. The core production line consisting of an ultra-large dock and a slipway is driven by two wheels. All production links are closely connected and work together efficiently, delivering one vessel after another.

Next, Hengli Heavy Industries will continue to promote technological innovation, and strive to provide shipowners with more customized ships with excellent performance and leading technology, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the shipbuilding and shipping industries.
