Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, held the delivery ceremony for the 3,000-ton buoy tender “Xiangyanghong 17” on May 7. The vessel was built for the North Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The vessel is 89.3 meters long, 18 meters wide, 7.2 meters deep, with a designed displacement of 3,950 tons. It has strong buoy loading and deployment capabilities. After completion, it will be mainly used for buoy deployment and recovery, regular maintenance, emergency repairs and other support work. Meanwhile, the vessel is also equipped with fully functional onboard survey equipment, which can perform various comprehensive marine survey tasks.
The successful delivery of “Xiangyanghong 17” marks that a new type of buoy operation vessel with all-weather offshore operation capabilities has been officially put into use in the North Sea Bureau, providing strong support for China’s marine environmental monitoring, buoy maintenance and emergency rescue.
