Kasuga Kaiun & SUMEC Marine Deepen Ties with New Bulk Carrier Order

On April 30, New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine, successfully renewed the new shipbuilding contract for two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers with Japanese shipowner Kasuga Kaiun.

Kasuga Kaiun President Toshioki Akase, Executive Director Masakazu Akase, SUMEC General Manager Assistant and SUMEC Marine Chairman He Jun, SUMEC Marine Vice Chairman Xu Gang and General Manager Xu Bin attended the signing ceremony.

Kasuga Kaiun President Toshioki Akase said that he looks forward to maintaining close cooperation with SUMEC Marine in the years to come and establishing a more long-term partnership. This signing is the first time the two sides have joined hands again after a year, injecting vitality into the current new shipbuilding market. This move is also a strong appeal of the New Dayang Shipbuilding “Crown” brand, and it is also a reflection of the high level of mutual trust between the two parties.

With the current geopolitical conflicts and escalating environmental regulations, global shipowners are becoming more cautious about investment decisions. However, SUMEC Marine and Kasuga Kaiun have deepened their cooperation against the trend, which not only demonstrates the depth of strategic mutual trust between the two parties, but also reflects the firm confidence of both parties in the future development of the shipping industry.

In the future, SUMEC Marine will continue to iterate and upgrade its products around the green and intelligent development trends, reduce the operating costs of vessels throughout their life cycle for customers, and help customers seize the initiative in the global shipping carbon reduction race.

It is reported that Kasuga Kaiun ordered a total of four Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers from Dayang Shipbuilding in January and April 2024.
