COOEC Breaks Ground on Shell’s Nigeria Offshore Gas Project

On March 25, the construction of Shell HI project was officially started in COOEC’s (China Offshore Oil Engineering Co) Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base, marking the project’s entry into the full construction stage.

The Shell HI project is located offshore Nigeria. A three-deck topside module and a four-legged jacket will be newly built in the HI project area, using the “wind power + solar power” power supply mode, with a construction period of 12 months.

Upon completion, the project will deliver natural gas to the proposed No. 7 production line of the Nigerian LNG project, which will further enhance Nigeria’s energy supply capacity and bring significant economic benefits to the local community.

The Shell HI project is the first project in which COOEC cooperates with Shell as an EPC general contractor. It is also the first international general contractor project undertaken by COOEC’s Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base.

To ensure the smooth start of the project, COOEC conducted comprehensive preliminary preparations. COOEC has worked with the owner to conduct special research on many occasions, sorted out the differences between domestic projects and foreign-related projects, compiled corresponding control measures, and completed technical safety briefings to ensure that key personnel in each construction unit clearly understand the project construction plan and safety management requirements, laying a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the project.
