On March 4th, Hubei Jiangrun Shipbuilding officially signed the construction agreement for the first 10,000 DWT liquefied natural gas (LNG) new energy vessel in Huangzhou District, Huanggang City, Hubei Province.
It is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) single-fuel-powered vessel, measuring 119.8 meters in length, 19.6 meters in width, and 8.6 meters in depth. The total planned investment is nearly 30 million yuan, with an application for national ultra-long-term special government bond subsidy funds of approximately 20 million yuan. The new vessel will complete construction and enter into operation in early October this year.
A relevant official from the Huangzhou District Port and Shipping Development Center stated that the signing of this agreement not only represents a concrete action by the Huangzhou District shipping industry to actively respond to the national “Dual Carbon” strategy but also plays a crucial role in promoting technological innovation in new energy vessels, reducing logistics costs and improving efficiency, adjusting the structure of shipping capacity, and enhancing environmental benefits.
