WMMP Delivers Two ABS-Classed Intelligent Self-Elevating Platforms Overseas to Support Oilfield Operations

On September 15, the JANA 510 and JANA 511 platforms—independently designed and built by CSSC Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant (WMMP), successfully completed all commissioning work and were shipped overseas to provide oilfield service support in their operational waters.

JANA 510 and JANA 511 are intelligent self-elevating offshore service platforms developed by WMMP and classed by ABS. Built upon a proven vessel design, they retain signature features such as epidemic prevention capabilities, high-end customized interiors, and digital and intelligent systems, while also integrating a DP-2 dynamic positioning system, cybersecurity measures, and SCR technology.

The DP-2 system provides redundancy for the platform’s dynamic positioning capabilities; in the event of a single failure, it automatically maintains the vessel’s position and heading without interrupting operations, thereby ensuring the smooth progress of construction work and enhancing operational stability.

Regarding cybersecurity—a key classification notation required by classification societies—the platform has established a framework covering identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery; this ensures that critical systems continue to operate safely during a cyberattack and can rapidly return to a normal state, thereby conferring cyber resilience upon the platform. SCR technology serves as the core after-treatment solution enabling marine engines to comply with IMO Tier III nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission regulations; it functions by using chemical reactions to convert harmful NOx into harmless nitrogen and water exhaust gases before are released into the atmosphere, thereby improving the platform’s environmental performance.

WMMP has developed technical solutions for structural health monitoring (SMART SHM) and machinery health monitoring (SMART MHM) that meet the requirements for Approval in Principle (AIP) from ABS, successfully deploying them across multiple actual vessel projects. Leveraging its capabilities in the in-house integration of core equipment, comprehensive EPC contracting services, and advantages across the entire industry chain, WMMP has achieved the efficient and reliable integration of advanced technologies and high-end equipment onto these platforms.
