On August 21, Phase I of Wuhu Shipyard’s Intelligent Manufacturing Project for Amphibious Equipment officially broke ground at the shipyard’s site, marking the formal establishment of production and research facilities under the Collaborative Innovation Project for the Amphibious Platform Industrial Chain.

Phase I of the project has a total construction area of approximately 30,000 square meters. The main construction components include: a stainless steel production workshop of approximately 30,000 square meters, a research and development building of over 4,000 square meters, and accompanying outdoor infrastructure projects being built concurrently.
The project will be carried out in accordance with the guiding principles of “smart workshops, green production, and digital manufacturing”, ensuring high-standard construction, efficient progress, and high-quality operations, with the aim of fully driving the company’s quality improvement, capacity expansion, and iterative upgrades. Upon completion, the project will serve as the core facility for the research, development, and manufacturing of amphibious equipment at the Wuhu Shipyard.
In July 2026, Wuhu Shipyard’s “Key Technology R&D and Industrialization of Amphibious Platforms” was officially designated as a key supported project under Anhui Province’s 2026 Manufacturing Powerhouse Initiative. Grounded in the national demand for emergency industry development and Anhui Province’s strategic focus on high-end equipment manufacturing, Wuhu Shipyard will leverage the province’s combined strengths in the automotive and shipbuilding sectors, together with its own century-old expertise in structural design, welding and fabrication, power integration, and aquatic adaptability. Through these capabilities, the shipyard aims to address domestic shortfalls in amphibious emergency equipment and drive the high-quality, large-scale development of the amphibious equipment industry across the province.
