Greek shipowner Evalend Shipping has returned to Yangzijiang Shipbuilding with a new order comprising four tankers.
According to shipbroker Bancosta, Evalend Shipping has signed a contract with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for the construction of four 73,500 DWT LR1 product tankers. The vessels are priced at approximately US$55 million each, bringing the total value of the order to around $220 million, with deliveries scheduled between March and September 2028.
Since 2023, Evalend Shipping has placed orders with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for over 20 tankers—primarily MR and LR1 product tankers. Some of these vessels are slated for delivery in 2025 and 2026, while the remainder are scheduled for delivery by 2028.

In addition to the oil tanker orders, Evalend Shipping has also placed orders this year with Tangshan Dajin Heavy Industry (a subsidiary of Dajin Heavy Industry) for multiple 211,000 DWT bulk carriers, and with Hengli Heavy Industries for two 88,000-cubic-meter Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs).
Regarding the shipbuilder, according to semi-annual data recently released by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, the company secured new orders for 38 vessels valued at US$1.75 billion in the first half of 2026; it delivered 27 vessels, achieving 47% of its annual delivery target of 58 vessels. In July 2026, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding secured further orders worth US$200 million, comprising two 50,000 DWT MR product tankers and two 75,000 DWT LR1 product tankers.
As of June 30, 2026, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding held an orderbook totaling 256 vessels (8.67 million compensated gross tonnage) valued at approximately US$22.4 billion, with delivery schedules extending to 2030. The orderbook features a diverse mix of vessel types, comprising 151 container ships, 41 oil tankers, 37 bulk carriers, and 27 gas carriers.
Currently, delivery slots for 2029 are nearly fully booked, and the company has begun accepting orders for 2030 delivery slots.
