ZPMC Holds Four-Party Witness Ceremony for Delivery of Multi-Purpose Offshore Vessel “Haiyang Shiyou 292”

On August 12, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) held a four-party witness signing ceremony at Zhenhua Offshore Engineering to mark the completion milestone of the multi-purpose offshore engineering vessel “Haiyang Shiyou 292”, built for Zhenhua Offshore Engineering.

Representatives from the Nantong Maritime Safety Administration, China Classification Society, CNOOC Shenzhen Ocean Engineering Technology Service Co., Ltd., and ZPMC attended the ceremony and signed the relevant four-party witness documents.

The “Haiyang Shiyou 292” is a high-end offshore engineering vessel independently developed by China to meet deep-sea development needs. Featuring a double-hull structure and a monohull streamlined design, it has a total length of 126 meters, a beam of 28 meters, and a deck area of approximately 2,000 square meters. A moon pool measuring 7.2 meters in both length and width is located in the midship section, supporting efficient coordinated operations between the saturation diving system and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). The vessel has a maximum operating depth of 300 meters and is equipped with an electric azimuth thruster system and a DP2 dynamic positioning system. It is capable of navigating in unlimited waters and has a crew capacity of 100.

Once completed, the vessel will be primarily used for operations such as the maintenance and refurbishment of offshore platforms, the operation and maintenance of offshore oil and gas facilities, the installation and repair of subsea structures and pipelines, and the laying and maintenance of umbilical cables and power cables. Moving forward, ZPMC will continue to leverage its strengths in specialized vessel construction, using its proven building capabilities to support the development of China’s offshore oil and gas industry and enhance the country’s deep-sea equipment support capabilities.
