On June 26, 2026, the 2026 Global Partners Conference, hosted by COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) and COSCO SHIPPING (Hainan) and co-organized by COSCO SHIPPING Technology, was grandly held in Boao, Hainan.

During the conference, Guangzhou Ocean Crown Technology Co., Ltd. (”Ocean Crown Technology”), a subsidiary of YUEXIN GROUP, officially signed a shipbuilding contract with COSCO SHIPPING (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. for the construction of one 240 TEU Inland River Electric Container Vessel. This agreement marks the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership between the two companies and represents another significant milestone in YUEXIN GROUP’s continued commitment to the development of new energy vessels.
The 240 TEU Inland River Electric Container Vessel is a new-generation vessel that integrates green energy, intelligent control and high-efficiency transportation. The vessel has an overall length of 69.90 metres, a beam of 19.00 metres, a depth of 5.70 metres and a design draft of 4.30 metres. It is capable of carrying 240 TEUs with a maximum deadweight of approximately 3,600 tonnes, fully meeting the container transportation demands across the Pearl River Basin.
The propulsion system is powered by four containerized marine mobile power units equipped with swappable lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems, while additional space has been reserved for the future installation of two more battery containers, providing excellent scalability. The vessel is fitted with two 350 kW main propulsion motors and an outward-rotating twin-propeller propulsion system, enabling a maximum speed of 7.9 knots and a service speed of 6.8 knots. A single full charge provides approximately 13 hours of endurance, fully satisfying routine operational requirements.
In terms of intelligent technology, the vessel will be classed by the China Classification Society (CCS) and awarded the additional class notations for Intelligent Integrated Platform, Intelligent Navigation and Intelligent Engine Room, while also meeting the Green Ship Level-2 standard. These certifications demonstrate the deep integration of intelligent ship management with green and low-carbon technologies.
The vessel is also equipped with an advanced shore-based intelligent management system, enabling real-time operational monitoring, remote video surveillance and data analytics. These features significantly enhance operational safety, intelligent fleet management and energy efficiency.
Upon completion, the vessel will primarily operate on the Pearl River waterway, plying the route between Nansha Port and Hong Kong, which is classified as a ship for Inland River Class A navigation areas.
This signing represents not only another important achievement in the strategic cooperation between Ocean Crown Technology and COSCO SHIPPING (Tianjin), but also a concrete demonstration of YUEXIN GROUP’s commitment to China’s Dual Carbon goals and its dedication to sustainable development.
