Recently, Weihai Wuchuan Shipbuilding held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 40,800 DWT IMO II-class product/chemical tanker.
This MR oil and chemical tanker is Weihai Wuchuan Shipbuilding’s current main vessel type. The vessel is 180 meters long, 32 meters wide, and 16.5 meters deep, with a deadweight tonnage of 40,800 tons. The maximum density when fully loaded is 1.025 tons/cubic meter, and the maximum density when partially loaded is 1.54 tons/cubic meter. This allows the vessel to achieve efficient loading in the transportation of refined oil and chemicals, greatly improving the operational efficiency of customers.
The vessel is equipped with three main generators and one emergency generator. The main and auxiliary engines are fitted with high-pressure SCR systems, which effectively reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and meet international Tier III emission standards. The use of MAN 6S50ME-C9.7-HPSCR engines enables the vessel to operate with low fuel consumption across the entire speed range, significantly reducing the customer’s operating costs.
