On April 18, a signing ceremony for the Singapore 60-meter oil tanker project was held at Hunan Xiangchuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xiangchuan Heavy Industry”), a subsidiary of Changsha State-owned Holdings Group. Deputy Mayor Zheng Ping attended the ceremony, along with Yu Weijun, Party Secretary and Chairman of Changsha State-owned Holdings Group, and He Kuangshi, Deputy Party Secretary.

In the conference room at Xiangchuan Heavy Industry, Chen Yifu, the founder and controlling shareholder of Maxwell Ship Management Pte Ltd, and Qiu Jun, Party Secretary and Director of Xiangship Heavy Industry, formally signed a contract for the construction of two 60-meter oil tankers.
Maxwell Ship Management specializes in ship management and product tanker operation, serving clients in the international shipping and oil industries. Previously, when Maxwell Ship Management was inspecting shipyards for Gulf Oil’s 56-meter oil tanker project, they visited several shipbuilding companies in China. After multiple meetings, on-site investigations, and detailed evaluations, they ultimately chose to cooperate with Xiangchuan Heavy Industry.
In Chen Yifu’s view, Xiangchuan Heavy Industry has established a significant competitive edge in the fields of high-speed passenger vessels and high-end export vessels. The company’s superyachts are exported to Europe and its product oil tankers to Singapore, earning international recognition through their solid product quality.
Tan Zhiyong, President of the Association of Chinese Enterprises (Singapore), stated that as a port city, Singapore has a tremendous demand for ships, presenting numerous opportunities for cooperation with Changsha’s shipbuilding industry.
It is reported that this marks the third overseas order for Xiangship Heavy Industry since it secured its first high-end yacht order in 2022.
