HD Korea Shipbuilding wins 1.2t won in LPG and PC ship orders

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the mid-tier shipbuilding holding company of HD Hyundai, said on the 3rd it recently won orders for four liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers and eight petroleum/chemical product carriers (PC ships) for a total of 1.2008 trillion won.

First, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering signed contracts for two LPG carriers each with a shipowner based in Greece and a shipping company based in Oceania. The order amounts are 349.8 billion won and 239.3 billion won, respectively.

With a shipping company based in Asia, it signed a contract for eight PC ships worth 611.7 billion won. They will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered by the first half of 2029.

Including these orders, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured a total of $6.74 billion (66 ships), achieving 28.9% of its annual order target of $23.31 billion.

By ship type, the tally is 10 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 20 container ships, nine LPG/ammonia carriers, seven crude oil carriers, and 20 PC ships.
