On the 20th of March, a special naming ceremony was held for the two MR chemical tankers “CHAMPION TRUST” and “CHAMPION TRADER”, built by Jinglu shipyard for Champion Tankers AS. These are the second and third vessels out of eight.
This vessel, built by Jinglu Shipyard, is a new generation MR chemical tanker, 183.1 meters long, 32.2 meters wide, and with a design draft of 11.0 meters. It features 20 cargo holds and is a high-end MR oil and chemical tanker, capable of transporting 20 different types of cargo simultaneously.
The interior of the cargo holds is coated with Marine Line 784 special paint, enabling the vessel to carry all IMO-listed chemicals, including 98% concentrated sulfuric acid and 37% concentrated hydrochloric acid; Its chemical resistance surpasses that of stainless steel, phenolic epoxy resin, and zinc silicate coatings; it offers exceptional corrosion resistance against acids, alkalis, and solvents, maximizing the transport of various clean petrochemical products, including palm oil, fatty acid distillates, biofuels, methanol, syrups, and soda water; its impermeability ensures product purity; Excellent bonding strength and adhesion ensure long-term durability; the coating also possesses superior flexibility to resist internal stress, and its strength provides exceptional wear and impact resistance.
The vessel employs a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, a green and environmentally friendly technology, to meet TIII emission requirements and significantly reduce nitrogen oxides. Through in-depth optimization, the vessel design meets EEDI Stage 3 requirements, achieving a synergistic improvement in both high efficiency and environmental performance
