On March 14th, the fourth 75,000 DWT LR1 oil tanker “CAMARO” built by Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group for the shipowner Evalend was set off from the shipyard and left the dock, marking its delivery and entry into service. The handover documents were signed on March 12th.

This vessel type features an overall length of 227.9 meters, a beam of 36 meters, a design draft of 12.2 meters, and a draft of 13.7 meters, with a service speed of 14.5 knots; it fully complies with the requirements of EEDI Phase 3. Developed and designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), this tanker represents a new generation of 75,000 DWT Panamax tankers, featuring iterative optimizations applied to its hull lines, structural configuration, and other key aspects.
The vessel is equipped with six pairs of cargo tanks and one pair of slop tanks; in addition to transporting crude oil and refined petroleum products, it is also capable of carrying Category 3 chemicals, thereby further enhancing its cargo-carrying capacity.
It is understood that the series of 75,000 DWT LR1 tankers being built by New Yangzi Shipbuilding for the shipowner Evalend comprises a total of 10 vessels.
As the fourth vessel in the series, construction of this vessel commenced in early March 2025. Sea trials were completed in late January 2026, with the results of all tests meeting the design specifications. The vessel is classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR).
