Estonia’s Amisco Signs Contract for Two 5,900 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels with China’s Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry

On March 5, Amisco, an Estonian shipowner headquartered in Tallinn, announced that it is expanding its fleet by constructing two multi-purpose dry cargo vessels at a Chinese shipyard.

Specifically, Amisco has signed a contract with Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry for the construction of two 5,900 DWT multi-purpose dry cargo vessels, scheduled for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2027.

The steel-cutting ceremony for the first vessel was held in February 2026, marking the official commencement of the project.

Amisco has stated that this 5,900 DWT multi-purpose dry cargo vessel combines multi-commodity transport capabilities with enhanced fuel efficiency and operational reliability. This investment represents a key component of the company’s ongoing fleet renewal program and long-term development strategy.

According to its official website, Amisco is a privately owned enterprise established in 1994, currently operating a fleet of eight vessels. In addition to its headquarters in Tallinn, Amisco maintains a ship management company in Portugal and maintains close ties with the flag state.

According to records, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry was established in 2012 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bestway Marine & Energy Technology. The company is capable of constructing 30,000 DWT bulk carriers, container ships, product tankers, chemical tankers, multipurpose vessels and wind turbine installation platforms.
